Collection day is where a waste or recycling service either runs smoothly or quietly costs a fortune. Ryclo is the waste collection software we built to fix that, and it is now available to recycling and waste operators across New Zealand.
- Built with Xtreme Zero Waste to run commercial collections in Raglan
- One platform for customers, bookings, schedules, routes, invoicing and diversion reporting
- Proven results: 73.6% diversion, about 50% less truck road time, about 80% less office admin
- Packages from $298 a month + GST, and every package starts with a free month

The problem with collection day
Bookings come in by phone, email and web form. Recurring pickups live in a spreadsheet. Someone builds the day’s runs by hand, drivers get a printed list, and at the end of the week the office keys everything into the accounting system and tries to work out what was actually diverted from landfill.
Every handover is a chance for something to be missed: a bin that wasn’t collected, an invoice that never went out, or a diversion figure nobody can stand behind.
Where Ryclo came from

Ryclo started on the road in Raglan. It grew out of the commercial collections system we built with Xtreme Zero Waste, the community enterprise that runs Raglan’s resource recovery centre.
Xtreme Zero Waste uses it to run commercial collections for more than a hundred Raglan businesses across seven waste streams. Since collections moved onto the system, they report:
Those numbers are why we turned it into a product. The problems Xtreme Zero Waste had are the same ones community recyclers, growing commercial services and regional operators deal with everywhere.
One platform instead of five
Ryclo replaces the booking form, the spreadsheet, the route planner and the pile of invoices to key in with one connected system. Each part feeds the next, so nothing is entered twice.

Customers and bookings
Businesses register online with site details, access notes and bins. You approve them, a welcome email goes out, and they book one-off or recurring collections.
Smart scheduling
Weekly, fortnightly and monthly collections are generated up to 12 weeks ahead. Pause, change or cancel one stream without touching the rest.
Route planning
The day’s collections become routes across your vehicles, with arrival times, depot start and finish, driver hours, breaks and truck capacity for each bin type.
Driver connection
Routes go to drivers’ phones, can be printed or exported as CSV. Drivers mark each bin completed, failed or cancelled and chat with the office in the app.
Invoicing without double entry
Same-day collections for one customer become a single invoice, sent to Xero (or another accounting system on request) with your item codes. A nightly check flags anything missed.
Diversion reporting
The Recycling Matrix turns completed collections into diversion rate, diverted and landfill volumes, trends by stream and estimated savings, for any customer or date range.
Why diversion is measured by volume
Ryclo measures diversion by volume per bin lift, not weight. Each product carries a volume in cubic metres, so the figures come straight from completed collections with nothing to weigh. That makes reporting to councils, funders and customers far easier.

Operational reporting and controls
Managers can see revenue by zone, the busiest weekdays, top-account share and active versus inactive customers. There’s a branding editor for customer-facing screens, four user roles and an activity log of every admin action.

Why we built it this way
Most of our work at Web Paste is connecting the systems a business already relies on, so information flows instead of being retyped. Ryclo is that approach applied to one industry. It was shaped by a real operator, on real streets, before it was offered to anyone else.

Who built Ryclo?
Ryclo was built by Web Paste, a web development and digital systems company in Raglan, together with Xtreme Zero Waste, which uses it to run commercial collections in Raglan.
Does Ryclo work with Xero?
Yes. Completed collections are combined into invoices and sent to Xero with your own item codes. Other accounting systems can be connected on request.
How much does Ryclo cost?
Packages start at $298 a month + GST for up to 30 collection locations, and every package starts with a free month.
